About Us

When we first opened our doors in Caversham, Western Australia, as Better Pets and Gardens in 2005 we wore t-shirts that said, “We are now Better” and we have worked hard since then to be just that.  We now have many stores across the state which are all owned and managed by people that live right here in WA and we’re immensely proud of that.  We believe that having people that live in the community that they serve means that they will strive to provide the best service possible, develop strong relationships with their customers and of course, give back to the community with their own personal spending and by supporting local organisations.  Having locally owned stores is a win-win for everyone.

Our team is a passionate bunch.  When hiring, we look for motivated and committed people who are passionate and highly involved in the areas that we trade.  Amongst our team are vet nurses, horticulturalists, pet rescue volunteers and garden enthusiasts and many who are simply passionate about pets and gardens and we support them by offering supplier training and internal staff education programs to make sure that they are able to give the most up-to-date and accurate advice to our customers.  Our successful business today has been built upon the ideas and suggestions of our staff and the customers they serve.

Better Pets and Gardens is serious about the welfare of pets.  We continue to collect donations to support volunteer pet rescue groups across WA every Christmas in our Paws and Claus Christmas Appeal and regularly donate pet food and essential items throughout the year so that they can continue to do the amazing work of rescuing and re-homing pets.  We also sponsor many pet groups throughout WA and take every opportunity to educate pet owners with our website fact sheets, email newsletters, in-store information and Facebook experts.

In the end, no matter what we say here, its all about giving you the best experience possible when you are in our stores by offering informed advice, excellent service and the best prices possible.  So, we would like to invite you to visit one of our stores, meet our team and then to decide if we really are ‘Better’.
