There are numerous camping sites along the Blackwood River between Margaret River and Nannup. Most of them are small, shady areas along the river with no facilities but the general rule is, if the track is well used, you will find a decent spot. Access tracks are usually narrow and a bit rough although most are suitable for 2WD. Look for well used tracks as these are more likely to lead to good campsites.
Sues Bridge is a popular campsite 9km north of the Brockman Highway on Sues Road. It’s on the western side of the road and is 200m south of the actual Sues Bridge. It offers a relaxing place to camp within a magnificent forest setting. No generators are allowed.
Recreation in this area includes fishing for silver and black bream, marroning in season, swimming and canoeing. Plus, the birdlife is magnificent.
